Business Developer with a degree in Pharmacy or Biotechnology or other life sciences

Position Overview

Metisox is seeking a proactive and results-driven Business Developer to join our innovative team. The ideal candidate will have a strong sales background in scientific data basis and scientific software for derisking projects in drug discovery (including genomics or bioinformatic) with a demonstrated ability to close complex deals, in software, data analytics, or consulting services. 

This role requires excellent communication, coordination, and client engagement abilities, as well as a high level of professionalism. You will be responsible for identifying new business opportunities, developing strategic relationships, and navigating complex, often long-cycle sales processes. The ability to work collaboratively with both internal technical teams and client-side stakeholders is essential to success.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities in the scientific software solutions for pharmaceutical drug discovery, leveraging Metisox’s diverse product offerings.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key client stakeholders to deeply understand their needs and align tailored solutions.
  • Lead the sales process end-to-end—from prospecting to deal closing—while ensuring clear communication and alignment between all involved parties.
  • Collaborate closely with Metisox’s technical team and the client’s internal teams to demonstrate value, assist the Client in internal approval processes, and ensure client buy-in.
  • Conduct comprehensive market analysis to spot trends, assess competitors, and discover new client segments.
  • Utilize AI and machine learning tools to support pharmaceutical research, including drug discovery, data analysis, and predictive modeling
  • Utilize a consultative sales approach to uncover client pain points and co-develop solutions that deliver both clinical and business value.
  • Support marketing efforts through the development and dissemination of targeted promotional materials.
  • Represent Metisox at industry events, conferences, and trade shows to enhance visibility and generate high-quality leads.
  • Track key sales performance metrics and provide regular reports and insights to the management team.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Background in scientific data basis and scientific software for derisking projects in drug discovery (including genomics or bioinformatics)
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Pharmacy or Biotechnology or other life sciences
  • Strong background in sales, negotiation and marketing skills are required.
  • Excellent coordination and interpersonal skills to manage communication between internal teams and external clients.
  • Consultative selling skills with the ability to navigate complex sales processes involving multiple stakeholders is beneficial.
  • Experience with software solutions, data analytics, or consulting services, ideally in the pharmaceutical or biotech industry.
  • Experience in digital marketing is beneficial.
  • High proficiency in English, both written and verbal.
  • High digital literacy, including demonstrated experience in using diverse AI tools and building workflows and pipelines.
  • Strong analytical mindset with the ability to use data to reason strategy and improve performance.
  • Ability to multitask and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
